I started drawing stick figures at age 5 . Six to ten came the "NewYorker" cartoons and Charles Adams
was the first cartoon I looked for. (Still Love a good cartoon-) Junior High brought Mouse and Big Daddy Roth
T-shirts .Man did I love the drawings. (like most boys of that age) But for me it wasn't the cars but the creatures
Next came the early fantasy illustrators and then the Si-Fi-illustrators whom I love to this day . Beardsly, Heath Robinson, A. Rackhgam , Dulac,J.Allen St John, StanleyMeltzoff (if you ever see a closeup of his 'Pupet Masters' & the way he pushes the paint around on the surface it's artwork not an illustration) also
Paul Lehr ,Egglelton, Whelan, 'Heavey Metal Magizine' artisists like B. Wrightson, Mobius
& Jeff Jones hundreds more. Dare I leave out Frazzetta..I think not.
College introduced me to the big time and without a lot of fanfair the Surrealist were great..still love Magritte.
But Rembrants work both paintings and etchings were incredible to me .Fransico Goya the same!
To this day I love Ernst Fuchs works, Caravaggio,Bosch,Brugel, O.Clamente , & too many more to mention.
Beinart.org is one of my favorite websites !
